I
work with artists' quality colored pencils on acid free,
mildew and rot resistant Canson Mi-Teintes paper (160
grams).
|
| What
do you need to draw a portrait of my cat or dog? |
I
need a good photo of your cat or dog's face
& neck (see my
gallery for reference). It should be
a big image with high resolution for better detail,
the fur and eye color should be clear. Digital photos
can be e-mailed. Prints can be mailed and they will
be returned to you with the portrait. If you can provide
2 or 3 different photos that would be great.
PHOTO TIPS:
-
It is best to take a photo outdoors in bright shade.
Avoid very bright sunlight or using a flash if possible.
- Photographs
look better if taken from the animal's eye level,
crouch instead of hovering.
- Get
help! It is almost impossible to take a good photo
of an animal by yourself. Ask someone to hold the
animal or get it's attention while you shoot the
pictures.
- Try
to capture your pet's unique expressions: tilted
head, perky ears, etc.
- Don't
worry about the background, concentrate on the subject,
I will take care of the rest ;)

|
| Would
you draw both of my pets on one portrait? |
Yes!
I can draw several pets on the same portrait, please
contact me for details.
|
| Do you draw
full body portraits? |
I
usually focus on headshots, paying close attention
to the animal's eyes, but full body portraits can
be commissioned, please contact me for prices and
details.
|
| Does
it include a frame? |
| No,
sorry. The portraits are NOT FRAMED. I
do recommend framing under glass for portection and
keeping from direct sunlight. Most of the portrait sizes
I offer are standard. |
